In the past two months, President Obama has blamed CEOs for the United States’ sub-par economic performance twice.

President Obama met with CEOs at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings in Hawaii, and told a room of CEOs that “we’ve been a little bit lazy over the last couple of decades,” according to ABC News.

The President made similar comments in September.

Former CEO and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney took issue with Obama’s statements. Romney pointed out the President’s inexperience in the private sector, “Now I don’t want to be too critical, the president came in, and I think never having worked in the private sector, he went to work trying to make things better.”

As CEOs, do you think that this is the case? Are American companies working to promote themselves in the global marketplace, or is the President right?
