New Walmart CEO Faces Desk Full of Challenges

Doug McMillon, the new CEO of Walmart, barely had time to find the water cooler this week before confronting a huge pile of challenges that awaited on the desk he inherited from retired chief Michael Duke. Governmental reimbursement forms for hospitals have three codes for injuries from burning water skis and nine codes for injuries caused by parrots. Funny? Sure, but there’s no doubt that the U.S. is overburdened with regulations, and since complexity is expensive, these regulations could cripple our economic recovery.
