Pearl Meyer & Partners
Jim Heim is a Managing Director in the Boston, Massachusetts office of Pearl Meyer & Partners. He specializes in competitive assessment and design of executive and board compensation, with a particular focus on incentive and equity plan development. Jim works across multiple industries, including aerospace & defense, information technology, life sciences and manufacturing. Much of Jim’s work focuses on the design of executive compensation programs following periods of growth or changes in corporate strategy.
Prior to joining Pearl Meyer & Partners, Jim worked in a variety of compensation roles for EMC Corporation, with responsibility for the design and implementation of a broad range of short and long-term incentive programs for executive and broad based employee populations. He also held compensation positions at the Gillette Company and One Beacon Insurance.
Jim holds an MBA with a concentration in human resources management and a B.A. in Psychology, both from the University of Kansas. He is a speaker and writer on various executive pay topics, a Certified Compensation Professional, a Global Remuneration Professional, a Certified Equity Professional and served as a faculty member of WorldatWork (for its "Principles of Executive Rewards" course).

He is a former investment banker who specialized in mergers & acquisitions and private placements.
