About Us: The Credit Union began as The Starliner Credit Union on October 1, 1952. It was located in Anchorage, Alaska, had 27 charter members and had assets of $147.91. Today we’ve grown to over $58 million in assets and proudly serve over 7000 current and former employees – and their family members – of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Throughout the years, we’ve changed our name to reflect the name changes and additions that make up the Alaska Air Group today.

Responsibilities

Alaska Airlines / Horizon Air Employees Federal Credit Union, located in Seattle WA ($55M), serving exclusively its airline employees and their families, is launching a search for a Chief Executive Officer to succeed their successful and highly talented retiring CEO. The new chief executive will bring to the organization proven business acumen for this high-performing, sophisticated enterprise. Candidates will be particularly strong in financial, investment and regulatory compliance matters. Sustaining a strong culture of collaboration, growing individual employee skills through cross training, and enhancing the lives of geographically disbursed members through exceptional financial services are an ongoing focus of the board.

Requirements

Financial expertise to maintain complex portfolios, carefully manage expenses, and grow lending portfolios, particularly mortgage lending, is essential. The CEO will have critical and significant business and operational decision making responsibility; will lead a solid team of credit union professionals, work closely with the board of directors and build relationships with the sponsor airlines’ leadership. Extensive experience required: min 10 years in financial services with 3 years as CEO or CFO of a sizable Credit Union or other executive level position preferred. Strong work ethic needed. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
