FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – GREENWICH, CT, July 1, 2014

Chief Executive Magazine and Edmunds.com
Jointly Announce the “Five Best Fun Cars for CEOs”

Authors test drive, evaluate and report on the top 2014 sports cars for leaders.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEGREENWICH, CT, July 1, 2014Chief Executive magazine and Edmunds.com today published the “Five Best Fun Cars for CEOs,” part of an annual feature that runs on both organizations’ websites.

The five 2014-model cars featured are:

  • Jaguar F Type V8 S
  • Porsche 911 Turbo S
  • Audi RS 7
  • BMW i8
  • Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Each car was evaluated based on its horsepower, price as tested, miles per gallon, added benefits, negatives and “what it says about the driver.” The Jaguar F, for example, has the “coolest headlights in the universe,” while the Audi RS 7’s Bang & Olufsen sound system “is incredible.”

The Porsche 911 Turbo S is the priciest of the lot, at $210,620, while the Chevrolet Corvette cost the least, at $66,080. The Audi and Porsche tied for horsepower, at 560. Each model is a two-door convertible that allows CEOs to power down on the weekends and enjoy their time away from the office.

“CEOs have the most difficult and stressful jobs in their respective companies,” said JP Donlon, Editor-in-Chief of Chief Executive magazine. “Blowing off steam on the weekends is not only well deserved, it’s a necessary part of staying healthy. Sports cars address both ends of the spectrum.”

”We test hundreds of cars every year, and feel sure that any CEO with even the highest standards would have fun with the cars on this list,” said Scott Oldham, Editor-in-Chief of car shopping website Edmunds.com.

This year’s focus on fun cars follows last year’s feature on the “Top 5 Eco-Friendly Cars for CEOs.”
