Going It Alone?

Convention and Visitors Bureaus can be a great resource for do-it-yourself retreat planners.
If you’ve homed in on a particular area for your retreat and need to know your options, the local Conventions and Visitors Bureau (CVB) can offer you free guidance, including:
- Information on the kinds of hotels and venues in their destination
- Guidance on the desirability of your meeting for the different types of hotels
- Input on the seasonality of the destination if lower rates are an important factor
- Customized hotel information. Once you’ve decided on one or more potentially suitable hotels, the CVB will reach out to your picks to request proposals based upon your requirements, and at your request, even aggregate them for your consideration.
