It’s rare when a consultant deserves a bouquet, but former Boeing directer of lean manufacturing JOHN R. BLACK deserves every petal for this gem from his recently published book, “Lean Production”: “Hiring consultants to come to your company, collect data and feed it back to you with a strategy that requires you to spend money, add people, and buy expensive machines and equipment means one thing: You are really stupid.”
THORN€¦Wearing a red dress and pigtails, LIN MIAOKE charmed a worldwide audience at the opening ceremonies at the Beijing Olympics with a rendition of “Ode to the Motherland.” The only problem was that she was lip-syncing to the real voice of seven-year-old Yang Peiyi, who was not allowed to appear because she is not as “flawless” as nine-year-old Lin, according to the show’s musical director CHEN QIGANG, who deserves a mega thorn inside eight Olympic rings tattooed on his backside.
