Why Partner with Chief Executive Coaching?

Group of 9 beautiful people in front of a background

The coaching “business” has a low barrier to entry: nearly anyone can coach a client or two based on prior relationships and experience. But successful coaches who intend to help CEOs in a sustained, professional, and effective manner recognize it as a serious endeavor worthy of structure, peer input and continuous improvement.

Chief Executive Coaching will help you lead a successful, sustained coaching practice that is effective for clients and fulfilling for you by providing the training, structure, and support to help you establish and sustain a meaningful coaching practice.

All Chief Executive coaches begin by participating in an immersive, 2-day workshop, designed by practicing coaches, to provide a framework upon which to build. In a small group setting, you will learn proven, real-world best-practices and apply them to examples and case studies.

From theory to implementation, you will learn:

  • How your role as a coach needs to be different than that of mentor, chairperson, friend or colleague.
  • The pitfalls of “checklist” coaching.
  • How to use a reflective, inquiry-based approach to bring about change.
  • How to shift from “telling” mode that you successfully employed as an executive to “showing” mode as a coach.
  • How to avoid giving feedback that triggers embarrassment and resistance.
  • And more

We also provide ongoing training, including a personal coaching mentor who is assigned to support you, membership in a peer group of coaches to regularly share challenges, solutions and best practices, access to our Coaches Retreats and Chief Executive’s Masterclasses and Conferences.

Chief Executive Coaching provides a set of modules around which coaching engagements can be structured, providing coaches and clients with transparency and alignment. Within each module, based around common issues and problems, we provide templates and best practices for you to utilize in your engagements.

Recommended modules include:

  • Introductory Meeting, Goals & Expectations
  • On-site deep dive, meet team, discuss profiles, etc.
  • Strategy: Create/Refine A Compelling Vision and Strategy
  • Aligning the Leadership Team
  • Goals: Setting and Communicating Goals
  • Leadership Effectiveness, Trust, and Presence
  • Team Leadership: Building a High Performing Team
  • Managing Uncertainty, Change & Crises
  • Performance Feedback: Consistent Accountability
  • Fostering Creativity and Innovation

Along your coaching journey, you will inevitably face new situations and challenges. Chief Executive Coaching is the community that you can turn to for questions and support on an ongoing basis. From scheduled annual coaches retreats, monthly online peer coach meetings to share ideas and best practices, in addition to your personal coach mentor assigned to you to ensure your success.

Chief Executive Coaching also provides critical, ongoing support for your business development efforts. As part of Chief Executive Group, our coaches benefit from the most active, dynamic community of CEOs in the world. Comprised of more than 140,000 CEOs and senior executive who trust us based on decades of service through Chief Executivemagazine, CEO Briefing eNewsletter, the Chief Executive Network community and our numerous conferences and research efforts, we will help develop prospects for your coaching efforts based upon mutual fit and needs. FAQs

All Chief Executive Coaches have been successful CEOs or Presidents. They have all successfully grown their businesses and their teams and are passionate about helping other CEOs and business leaders to succeed in their careers as well.

Chief Executive Coaching is a division of Chief Executive Group, the publisher of Chief Executive magazine and CEO Briefing Newsletter.  We market Chief Executive Coaching to the over 140,000 CEOs who engage with us through our media, conferences, and Chief Executive Network.  We match clients with potential coaches based on the needs of the client (based on their size, industry, ownership type, challenges, and opportunities).  We will usually recommend that clients speak with the recommended coach to ensure there is a good fit.  If either the client or coach doesn’t agree there is a good fit, we’ll provide alternative coach candidates for the client to meet and evaluate.

After the initial 2-day training bootcamp, Coaches commit to a monthly 30 minute 1:1 call with our Coach Advisor and a one-hour monthly coach-to-coach peer call online to discuss approaches and strategies. For each client, coaches should expect to invest at least 4 hours per month per coaching client after the one-day on-premises kickoff session. Coaches can manage up to 20 client relationships at a time if they want to devote full time to coaching, although a part-time schedule with 5 to 10 clients is most common.

Coaches are paid for their time and service.  A coach with a full roster of clients can earn high six figures.

We leave it to the client and coaches’ discretion, but most of our coaches will do a team kick off session and annual planning sessions in person, with the balance of one-on-one coaching sessions online.

All Chief Executive coaches and employees agree to and sign a confidentiality agreement to safeguard our clients’ confidential information.

Chief Executive Coaching provides extensive training and support to all our coaches. In addition to a detailed manual outlining key meetings, assessments, and tools that we recommend, each coach is required to go through a thorough, two-day orientation boot camp to get detailed information about our processes, tools and assessments. In addition, coaches are provided ongoing training and support including monthly mentoring calls and peer network sessions as well as conferences and other continuous education training.

Chief Executive Coaching provides ongoing marketing support, sales leads, administrative support (including all billing and collections) and coaching support.

Each coach is assigned a professional coach mentor and peer group that they meet with monthly and on demand to help our coaches succeed.  In addition, we solicit regular feedback from our clients that we share with our coaches to provide them with the information they need to best serve their clients.

In addition to the orientation boot camps, our coaches network with each other on a regular basis including monthly peer calls to share ideas, best practices and solutions to pressing issues.  Our coaches and their clients are also invited to our Chief Executive Leadership Conference to network with their peer coaches and clients.
