Mark Reuss

President, General Motors

Mark Reuss is president of General Motors, a role he has held since January 2019. He leads the company’s strategy to deliver the industry’s best and broadest product portfolio. Under his leadership, GM offers customers a range of EVs and internal-combustion vehicles across segments and price points, created with a sharp focus on design excellence, engineering innovation, and manufacturing execution.

Reuss oversees GM’s product and operating organizations, including Global Markets, Global Product, Quality, Manufacturing, Marketing, GM Defense, and Global Planning.

Previously, Reuss served as executive vice president, Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain; president of GM North America; managing director of GM Australia and New Zealand; and vice president of Global Engineering.

He serves on the boards of directors of Honeywell Aerospace and Cadillac Formula 1 Team Holdings, and chairs the Board of Trustees at The Henry Ford. Reuss also serves on the Board of Trustees at Cranbrook Schools, Detroit Workforce Development, the Detroit Education Coalition, and the CEO Leadership Group.

Born and raised in Metro Detroit, Reuss began his GM career as a student intern in 1983. He remains deeply committed to revitalizing the region through his support of education, community, and philanthropic organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University.

David S. Marriott

Chairman of the Board, Marriott International

David S. Marriott is Chairman of the Board of Marriott International, Inc., the world’s largest hospitality company with over 30 brands and 9,700 properties across 143 countries and territories as of September 30, 2025. He was elected to the Marriott International Board of Directors in March of 2021 and assumed the position of Chairman of the Board in May of 2022. David Marriott is only the third Chairman of the Board in the company’s 98-year history, preceded by his father, J.W. Marriott, Jr. (Bill), and grandfather J.W. Marriott.

David joined Marriott International in 1999 and has held a number of operational roles during his 26-year career with the company. As President, U.S. Full Service Managed by Marriott, he was responsible for oversight of more than 330 hotels operating under 14 brands in 34 states and French Polynesia. In this capacity, he oversaw Hotel Operations, Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Market Strategy, Information Resources and Development & Feasibility. Previously, David served as Chief Operations Officer – The Americas Eastern Region from 2010 to 2018, where he was responsible for hotel operations in 23 states. During this time, he also oversaw the U.S. integration efforts of Marriott’s acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Prior positions at the company include Market Vice President, where he was responsible for hotel operations in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, and Senior Vice President of Global Sales, where he helped lead a comprehensive transformation of Marriott’s U.S. sales organization.

David is a graduate of the University of Utah. He sits on National Geographic Society’s board of trustees and has also served as a member of the board of trustees of The J. Willard & Alice S. Marriott Foundation since 2015. David was previously Chair of the Governing Board of St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., and Chair of the Board of Benefactors for the Guide Dog Foundation. A mountain bike and running enthusiast, David travels extensively to meet with customers and Marriott associates at properties around the world. He resides in Maryland with his wife and four children.

John Graham, Ph.D.

D. Richard Mead Professor of Finance, Fuqua School of Business, Duke University; Economist & CNBC Guest Commentator

John R. Graham is D. Richard Mead professor of finance at the Fuqua School of Business, where he has won the Outstanding Faculty and several Best Teacher awards, and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. His past work experience includes teaching at the University of Utah and seven years working as a senior economist at Virginia Power. He has been co-editor of the Journal of Finance and associate editor of The Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Finance, Finance Research Letters, and Financial Management. Graham has served as president and board director of the American Finance Association, the Western Finance Association, and the Financial Management Association, three of the largest academic finance professional organizations. Graham currently chairs the FMA’s Emerging Scholar mentoring program and is academic director of the Duke Fuqua CFO Executive Education program.

Graham has published more than 100 articles and book chapters on taxes, capital structure, cash management, governance, financial reporting, and payout policy, and won research awards including the Jensen Prize (5 times), the Brattle Prize, Graham and Dodd Scroll (2 times), the Financial Reporting Section American Accounting Association award (2 times), and the Notable Contribution to Accounting Award (2 times). His simulated corporate marginal income tax rates and optimal capital structure calculations are widely used and are an important input in the Kroll (Duff and Phelps) cost of capital and valuation publications. His teaching focuses on corporate finance broadly, taxes, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring. Graham has directed The CFO Survey (now conducted jointly with the Federal Reserve Banks of Richmond and Atlanta) since 1997.

Nina King

Vice President, Director of Athletics, Duke University

After 13 years on the department’s executive leadership team, Nina King was named Duke’s Vice President, Director of Athletics and Adjunct Professor of Business Administration on May 19, 2021. King succeeded Kevin M. White, who retired after 13 years in the post. In February 2025, the King-Compton Families Athletics Directorship Endowment was established in support of Duke’s principal athletics leadership position.

King, who serves on several ACC and Duke University committees, was selected as a member of the 2025-28 USA Basketball Board of Directors and is on the Board of Directors for the Collegiate Women Sports Awards. King served as the Chair of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee for two years (2020-22), leading the 10-person group’s charge in the selection, seeding, and bracketing for the annual NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, and was previously a member of the NCAA Committee on Institutional Performance, as well.

In addition, King teaches a sports business course in Duke’s Fuqua School of Business as part of Duke’s MBA program. She also championed the creation and launch of the Rubenstein-Bing ACE program, a collaboration between Stanford and Duke for global civic engagement for student-athletes from both athletics departments.

In her former role within the Duke Athletics leadership group, King facilitated daily operation and oversight of the department, had oversight responsibilities for the Human Resource operation, Recreation and Physical Education program, and all legal matters, including the development and execution of department contracts while serving as the liaison to the University Legal Counsel Office. She led the senior staff/sport administrator group that is responsible for administration of Duke’s 27 varsity sports. In addition, she assisted with oversight and planning for special projects within the department, coordinated strategic planning initiatives and is the primary contact between Duke Athletics and the university administration, including the Board of Trustees, President’s office, and senior administration. She also handled the primary administrative duties for Duke’s women’s basketball and football programs.

In February of 2018, King was named to Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Class of 2018. The annual list honors 40 executives for excellence and innovation in their respective careers, all before the age of 40. Later that year, she was tapped to the Leaders Under 40 Class of 2018, honoring sports business executives from around the world. In 2019, Sports Business Journal named King among the leading power players in college sports, while Adidas selected her to the “Next Up” class in 2016, which recognized senior-level administrators ready to take the next step as athletics directors.

A native of Tampa, Florida, King received her bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame in 2000, where she served as a student manager and eventually the head manager for the women’s swimming and diving program, and her juris doctor degree from Tulane Law School in 2005. She served internships in the Notre Dame Athletics Department, NCAA and Nike, Inc.

Prior to joining Duke University, King served as the Director of Rules Education in the Notre Dame Athletics Department from 2005-08.

King is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports, Sports Lawyers Association, University of Notre Dame National Monogram Club and the Florida Bar Association. Additionally, King serves on the Arizona State University College of Law Sports Law and Business Program Advisory Board as well as the Durham Academy Board of Trustees.

King and her husband, Rick, reside in Durham and are the parents of Connor Stephan and Austin Casey.

Ashleigh Shelby Rosette

James L. Vincent Professor of Leadership, Fuqua School of Business, Duke University

Ashleigh Shelby Rosette, PhD is the James L. Vincent Professor of Leadership at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

She is one of the foremost leading scholars on research that resides at the intersection of leadership, gender, and race and one of the most decorated teachers at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

Dr. Rosette’s primary research focuses on leadership and diverse viewpoints, aiming to deeply understand how individuals perceive an array of differences in the workplace, particularly when top leaders and other influential members of the organization are considered. Much of her work emphasizes women in leadership, highlighting the unique challenges and opportunities they face. Her inclusive approach underscores the importance of fostering an environment where diverse perspectives and experiences are recognized and valued. Her secondary area of research, negotiations, complements her principal area of study as a basic premise of her work is that an in-depth understanding of a variety of negotiation skills must be understood and engaged to capitalize on the benefits of diverse experiences.

Her research has been featured in Forbes, CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Business Week, the Financial Times, USAToday, Huffington Post and National Public Radio. Her research has been published in academic journals, such as Academy of Management Journal; Organization Science; Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes; Journal of Applied Psychology; Psychological Science; Journal of Experimental Social Psychology; Journal of Cross Cultural Psychology; Group Decision & Negotiation and the Duke Journal of Gender and Public Policy.

Professor Rosette’s teaching experience is varied and spans across several topics that center around two primary areas, Negotiations and Leadership. She has taught: (1) Negotiations, (2) Leadership, (3) Leadership, Ethics, and Organizations, and/or (4) Women and Leadership.

She was ranked as one of the Fifty Most Influential Business Professors by mbarankings.net, ranked as one of the Favorite Professors of the MBA Class of 2019 by Poet & Quants, received the 2019 PhD Project’s Trailblazer Award, is the recipient of the 2019 Bank of America Faculty Award (Fuqua’s highest faculty honor) and is one of the most decorated teachers in the history of Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business having received the Teaching Excellence Award of the Year a record-breaking twelve times.

She provides consulting services on topics such as leadership, diversity, decision-making, and negotiations to an array of clients in varied industries, such as banking, consulting, auditing services, automobile manufacturing, medical services, and the social/non-profit sector.

She received her Bachelor in Business Administration degree and Master in Professional Accounting degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She received her Ph.D. in Management and Organizations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Prior to her career in academia she worked as a CPA.

Dr. Colin Fisher

Steve Casey

General’s Retreat, built in 1986 with architect Gary Roger Baird, has been voted the “Best Golf Course in Nashville” and is a “must play” when visiting the Nashville, Tennessee area. With the beautiful setting along the Cumberland River, golfers of all capabilities will thoroughly enjoy the golf, scenery and hospitality.

The golf outing fee includes transportation to and from the hotel, greens/cart fees, use of practice facilities, and boxed lunch. The bus will leave the hotel at 10:30 am for a noon shotgun start and return to the hotel after the cocktail reception following the completion of the round.
