Oregon

A SOLID STATE FOR SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING

The semiconductor industry is thriving in Oregon, and economic development officials anticipate more than $40 billion in new investments in the coming years that will create over 6,300 jobs. Officials credit the growth to the $500 million in incentives lawmakers approved in 2022. These incentives include $240 million in grants and loans for new and expanded facilities and $255 million tax credits for advanced research. At least 15 companies are receiving funding, including startups and those that already have a presence in the state, such as Intel, Jireh Semiconductor, Lam Research and Stratacache.

“As the governor of this great state, I am excited about the positive impact that Intel's expansions and partnerships will have on Oregon's technology landscape and the future of our workforce. This collaboration highlights our state's commitment to fostering economic prosperity and diversity through education and innovation.”
