Restaurant CEOs, who employ thousands of part-timers, have yet to solve the minimum wage dilemma and are still struggling with the issue of whether to raise wages above the minimum wage in their facilities.
Do a Google search on the term “CEO” and you’ll likely get dozens of stories about male CEOs who said or did the wrong thing when it comes to women. From straight up impropriety to something as simple as a speech with a poorly placed word, the seemingly increased frequency of these issues has caused HR executives everywhere to wonder, should their CEOs be receiving training in how to handle sensitive issues? And should boards have stronger ethics guidelines for these types of situations?
As CEOs watch the continued economic uncertainty around the globe, many remain hesitant to invest their companies’ cash in building factories, buying new equipment or hiring more workers. So, more of them have been turning to another way to deploy idle financial assets: buying back the company’s own stock.

It’s time for the annual budget game. You know the drill. Ask for twice as much as you need so you’ll get enough. Hide some “fat” that you can cut when ordered to trim down. Then spend your full allocation because if you don’t, next year’s budget may be reduced.
In a study that focused on how chief executives capitalize on their relationships, CEOs with the strongest personal networks initiated more mergers and acquisitions than their less connected peers, at the same time producing relatively fewer deals that benefited the companies and investors involved, according to a study by the University of Arkansas.
