He served in 3 combat zones; led in Special Operations missions, including the Battle of Mogadishu (later featured in the movie "Black Hawk Down” for which he served as a technical advisor); and earned the Silver Star and a Purple Heart for his bravery in battle. He is also a veteran of the corporate world, including having served as CEO of Triple Canopy and Creative Radicals. Col. Van Arsdale is a faculty member and keynote speaker at Thayer Leadership.
