Revenues: ~$125 million
Employees: 1,100+
Boasting a client roster that includes such heavy hitters as Carrier, Johnson Controls and Nortek Global, this provider of quality air-moving equipment and HVAC solutions largely keeps its head down and profile low, focused on providing great service to clients and treating employees like family.
Founded by Hunter Morrison Sr. in 1923, Morrison Products began as a manufacturer of stamped metal products. The company eventually expanded to a new product line—blower wheels—after the Great Depression. In 1962, Dan Holmes, Sr. acquired its assets and focused on the production and sale of air-moving equipment. The next generation, Dan Holmes, Jr. and Harry Holmes, joined the business in the 1970s and successfully carried it forward.
Today, Harry is board chair; his daughter, Megan Fellinger, president and CEO, and Dan Jr.’s daughter, Anne Schuerger, are responsible for day-to-day operations and strategic direction. The new leadership branched out again in August 2018 by making the company’s first acquisition of Lau Industries, a leader in industrial fans and blowers. The company now has facilities in Ohio, Indiana, Georgia, Texas, and in Apodaca, Juarez and Santa Catarina, Mexico, as well as the original manufacturing site and headquarters in Ohio.
