Timothy E. Guertin is president and chief executive officer of Varian Medical Systems and a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
Guertin joined Varian in 1976. Prior to being appointed CEO in February, 2006, he served a year as Varian’s president and chief operating officer. He was general manager and president of Varian’s Oncology Systems business, the company’s largest business and the world’s leading supplier of linear accelerators for radiation therapy for cancer, from 1990 to 2005. While managing Varian Oncology Systems, Mr. Guertin was named a corporate vice president in 1992 and executive vice president in 1999.
